Worrying dogs...

One of my favorite blogs is Room 26 Cabinet of Curiosities from the Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Yale University. Every few days they highlight some amazing find from their collection. I love the look on this boy's face as he's being eaten by a dog!

Part of my job is the coordinator for Evanston's participation in Digital Past. So far we have digitized a few items from our local history clipping files and are working on the Concerned Citizens Commitment News, a newsletter from the African American community in Evanston during the 1970s and 1980s. For the past few weeks, Hannah (our wonderful summer employee through the city's Summer Youth Employment Program) has been rapidly scanning issues of the CCC News and last night Russell began using his immense cataloging skills to help me more completely and efficiently process these and get them into Digital Past.

I am also representing the library as a partner in the Evanston Women's History Project. This project is researching significant women in Evanston's history and present. Soon we'll have a EWHP blog to highlight interesting finds and update the public about the project.
